Method description
|
During the procedure the tissue is removed from the uterus with a manual aspirator non- electrical.

How does it work?
|
A fin plastic cannula, which is attached to the manual syringe for aspiration, is inserted into the uterus and by gentle vacuum aspiration the pregnancy tissue is removed.

Dilation is performed by metal expansion with the size up to 12 mm. with a curette; the tissue is removed, and control curettage is done.
|
Mifepriston stops the development of pregnancy, and Misoprostol causes the dilation of cervix, the contraction of the uterus and as a result the product of conception expels.

What do you feel during the procedure?
|
The clinical team will work with you in order to minimize the pain. You will be offered to choose the method of analgesia: local or general. It is normal to experience moderate pain at the end of the procedure, in case of local analgesia.

Dolor sensations usually are stronger in D+C. Pain can be avoided by using general anesthesia, after which during a few hours there is a slightly drowsy state and giddiness.

Most women experience sanguinolent eliminations. As well abdominal pain, nausea and sometimes vomiting.

What do you feel after the procedure?
|
A week after MVA it is normal to experience mild pain and sanguinolent eliminations similar or stronger than the ones during menstruation.

During a week after D+C it is normal to experience moderate pain and sanguinolent eliminations similar or stronger than during menstruation.

After complete abortion pain and bleeding can last for 1-3 weeks. If you have to use 2-3 large pads during an hour, 2 hours in a row it is necessary to contact your doctor.

What are the side effects and complications?
|
Complications are extremely rare: pelvic infection, hemorrhage, cervical injury, incomplete evacuation, uterine perforation in less than 0,5%.

Complications such as: pelvic infection, sterility, ectopic pregnancy, cervical injury, uterine perforations, hemorrhage, according to researches are more frequent in 3-13%.

The side effects are: nausea, vomiting, headache. Major complications are extremely rare but may include excessive bleeding, infection, incomplete abortion, and ongoing pregnancy.

Why some women prefer this method?
|
Abortion by MVA takes only a few minutes and can be provided immediately after a positive pregnancy test, even without an ultrasound confirmation.
The procedure is noiseless, very efficient, in majority of case sit requires minimal local anesthesia.

Abortion by D+C is well known among doctors and patients; some women already had a D+C and are not informed about the existence of other modern methods. The majority of doctors prefer an ultrasound confirmation of the pregnancy before the procedure.

Advantages
